Is It Wrong To Believe?
03:08
|
|
||
It's fair to say I'm not looking for action
Without real attraction, 'cos it's not the same
I've got to feel that there's something more
In the moments before, making love becomes our game
Is it wrong to believe that giving love away without meaning
Slowly takes the meaning from your love
These aren't the days of innocence
Just lust and pretense, when less is called more
And we're such desperate cannibals
Disregarding all the damages, it's a new world war
Is it wrong to believe that thinking only of yourself
In the end will leave you with less than anyone else
Took a sentimental journey, considered not returning
But that's not me
People pride themselves on being tough, never letting up
Or letting their thoughts run free
Is it wrong to believe that living life without feeling
Misses the point of even living at all
I'm all alone with no path home
That's not the way I planned it
It's so hard to face a cynical world
When you're the new romantic
Is it wrong to believe....

Flesh Carnival
03:40
|
|
||
You're not in the know, you try to figure it out
Yet every little insight, only leads to new doubt
To get your way, you once held your breath
But now you're turning blue and everyone just laughs
Behind hidden memories, you feel a stab of fear
Can you be in two places at once, can you be nowhere
You know they'll want a crucifixion, just to see what you have left
People are so hard to please, when you've defied your own death
(chorus)
Everyone is in, on this flesh carnival
Can't you hear the screams, that's how we play
Yeah we're all in, on this flesh carnival
And it never ends it just rots away
You're so mesmerized, but there's nothing to see
Everyone has built their own cage, and now they finally feel free
As all the virgins are burned, their ashes thrown to the sea
Every earthly sensation, gets pushed to new extremes

Fun Fun Fun
03:26
|
|
||
Don't you worry you've got a nice smile
You know that's all it takes
Trouble will always stop and start
Don't be the fool who just sits and waits
'Cause where we're going is a long way off
You know it's going to take some time
Just relax there's no need to run
'Cause we all want
Fun fun fun
I brought some soft drinks and tasty snacks
You look more yourself laying on your back
This world gets lonely when seen in terms of one
So we all want,
Fun fun fun
Walking in a dream between the rain and the sun
Laughing at tomorrow knowing that it never comes
And when you can't remember all the tears that you have cried
Troubles all say, goodbye, goodbye!
I don't want to be the last who laughs
I'm not sure it would be the best
I take no pleasure from a smoking gun
or a world turned to cinder ash
But don't you worry, you gotta nice smile
You know that's all it takes
Trouble always stops and starts
Don't be the fool who just sits and waits
'Cause where we're going is a long way off
And you never know just what we'll find
Everything melts in a nuclear sun
And we all want, so we all want, yeah we all want -
Fun fun fun.....

Simple
04:18
|
|
||
The old piano with the broken keys
Plays out of tune but it works for me
See I don't need a symphony for a simple song
And I try to stay up in a world of down
And keep searching for life in this ghost town
Holding onto hope it will be found, eventually
So don't get hypnotized by someone else's schemes
It will steal away your time, and tarnish all your dreams
Oh I loved my dog more than I loved myself
Yet he still loved me more than I loved him
And he opened my eyes in a way they had never been
And everyday things seem to fade and go
Some you know you'll miss but others you won't know
Til you've had time to reflect and see they left a lot of little holes
So don't get mesmerized by lies that seduce
For underneath this complex life there's a simple truth
(chorus)
And then you wonder, when it was you lost your youth
It's when the wonder, died inside of you
And you claim to long for the simple life but that seems far from true
'Cause everything has been complicated and we demand complicated truths
And now it seems like even love is too simple for you
But you're so desperate and drowning with regrets
You can't see the connect between what you give and and what you get

No Friend Of Man
03:34
|
|
||
There's warnings of storms again today
The sun will stay hidden, if he has his way
And clouds will descend and bring such a rain
Try to wash us away...
And all the things they told you in school
How God made man over nature to rule
It's an arrogant stand, that has never been proved
But it's all clear now
Nature is no friend of man
Then you start to claim that you're free now
When you're really just lost inside the crowd
Of those who can't conceive how things could be different
How fear wears them down
There's no history from a culture that's free
Just would be kings over men on their knees
Again and again that's all we've seen
But it's all clear now
Freedom is no friend of man
Freedom is no friend of man
Oh if given the choice between love and gold
Many pretend love would be their road
When it's already clear and everyone knows
Greed drives their deepest needs
So much for peace and sympathy
We must deal with such harsh realities
In a world so cruel and demanding
But it's all clear now
Love is no friend of man
Love is no friend of man
You know love, is no friend of man

The Moment She's In
03:01
|
|
||
Her letter never ended
It was more like the words, they just ran out
I'm sure there was more that she had to say
But she couldn't say it in a way that made sense
Get past the pretenses and all the denials
You'll see the game that she's playing
She says everything is coming into view
While the moment she's in is fading
People pretend to be happy as they dance around the
questions they dare not ask
They're all looking for a savior, I only wanted a love that would last
Now I may be naive but even I can see
Vows are only made for the breaking
And while she runs away towards something new
The moment she's in keeps fading
But you can't get very far
When you looking ahead then behind
When there's doubt in your mind
And a hole in your heart
It's strange to think about days that now seem
like they never really happened
As friends and lovers just disappear and it's like they've died but they're still around somewhere
Does she recall the faces and names
Of those whose love she's forsaken
And while she plans out the future she wants
The moment she's in is fading
Yeah! While she plans out the future she wants
The moment she's in, keeps fading...

When The Wind Is Gone
03:46
|
|
||
I was looking around inside myself and found somethings I thought I'd dealt with a long time ago
So long ago
Now if I can't pass such a simple test
If I'm ruled out then who is left
That really knows my soul
Who knows my soul?
(chorus)
And the wind is telling me just move on
There's no time to count the tears you've cried
The wind is telling me just move on
So why can't I? Why can't I?
In this world you know reason teases
Can't see the big picture, too many small pieces
Well, that's what we're told, it's what we've been sold
And it's never really clear what we're reaching for
When we should have enough we seem starved for more
And we get thrown off track
And lose our way back
I see it in a dream
Moving in and out of time
But I can't seem to make it mine
No I can't seem to make it...
Now sooner or later everything just ends, and whether it really over or just different. well!
No one can agree, on what to believe
But the wind is telling me just move on
And the rain starts to fall from the sky
And after the storm the wind dies down and is gone
And so will I, so will I

The Picture I Have Drawn
03:48
|
|
||
The things I remember as a child
May only be the sweet sweet lies of youth
Now that's the problem with the truth
The truth can mean so many things
The hurt I found and made along the way
Always held the promise of a brighter day
When it was all just lessons learned and debts repaid
And I drew the line that connected them all
(chorus)
But look at the picture I have drawn
Look at the picture I have drawn
I keep on kidding myself, pretending nothing is wrong
But look at the picture I have drawn
And looking back at first true love
It spoke to passion left uncontained
Then faced with growing doubts that love began to change
And innocence was lost forever more
And soon the lies I had been told began to equal
All the ways that I became deceitful
There were always alibis, yet always another sequel
And I drew the line that connected them all

Something Else
03:29
|
|
||
Do you see the world in a such a narrow way, is that who you are?
Well it's hard to stop...
You're living in a material world world, where everything is judged by the things you want, and the things you've got
Trapped between despair and hope
Between the yours, mine and ours
While dreams of the sweet sweet life turn ever sour
(chorus)
And if people weren't really hurting we could call it all a foolish game
When reaching high only leaves you open to another shot below the belt
I say its time we let it all go and start something else..
Politicians will spin all the things they believe
And the things that they're not
It's easier to deceive when you change the stories and keep all the lines crossed
You're told over and over your neighbors
Only want to take the things that should be ours
But the only ones who keep on taking are those with the power
So little time to get things right
Yet we're obsessed with the noise
People can't seem to focus too well
Preoccupied with their toys
A perfect ball of confusion
As someone throws fuel on the fire
While someone else preaches hatred
And writes new songs for the choir

Just turn the page, start another story
We'll survive, invent the glory
And what will be, words can't illuminate
But it's hard to believe, that its not just another trick of fate
So pick the poison, dull your mind
Before regrets set in, it happens every time
A strange little journey, we keep changing course
We cling to our innocence, yet burn with remorse
And everything has been, and will be, alright
Now I've seen better days, and fallen from higher cliffs
Does the end stay the same, regardless of choices picked
And while faces and places may change, we remain just who we are
We believe we're the architects, when we're only the saboteurs
Yet everything has been, and will be, alright
It's alright

You've been frightened, I see it in your eyes
Faith hope and love have gone, and you can't say why
But I know this, it will not be forever
Til you find love, the love that built the heavens
The love that made us all...
You've been searching, but pain is all you've found
All the truths you have embraced, have only let you down
But I can tell you this, it's all within your reach
And the secret to be won, is that love is yours to keep
The love that made us all...
Now say what you will but you never can tell when the earth is gonna open for you
And either you believe the end is a dreamless sleep or the beginning of another truth
You're foolish with your love and careless with your heart you let a lifetime drift away
You throw it away, you throw it away...
A maiden smiled at me, though she seemed so sad
I asked her what was wrong, she said her love had gone
I told her don't be fooled, true love can't be lost
Beneath pride and desire, lies the love that must be sought
The love that made us all
The love that made us all
