Yet every little insight, only leads to new doubt
To get your way, you once held your breath
But now you're turning blue and everyone just laughs
Behind hidden memories, you feel a stab of fear

You know they'll want a crucifixion, just to see what you have left
People are so hard to please, when you've defied your own death

The old piano with the broken keys
Plays out of tune but it works for me
See I don't need a symphony for a simple song
And I try to stay up in a world of down
And keep searching for life in this ghost town
Holding onto hope it will be found, eventually
So don't get hypnotized by someone else's schemes
It will steal away your time, and tarnish all your dreams
Oh I loved my dog more than I loved myself
Yet he still loved me more than I loved him
And he opened my eyes in a way they had never been
And everyday things seem to fade and go
Some you know you'll miss but others you won't know
Til you've had time to reflect and see they left a lot of little holes
So don't get mesmerized by lies that seduce
For underneath this complex life there's a simple truth

It's when the wonder, died inside of you

How God made man over nature to rule
It's an arrogant stand, that has never been proved

Of those who can't conceive how things could be different
How fear wears them down
There's no history from a culture that's free
Just would be kings over men on their knees
Again and again that's all we've seen

The Moment She's In

Her letter never ended
It was more like the words, they just ran out
I'm sure there was more that she had to say
But she couldn't say it in a way that made sense
Get past the pretenses and all the denials
You'll see the game that she's playing
She says everything is coming into view
While the moment she's in is fading
People pretend to be happy as they dance around the
questions they dare not ask
They're all looking for a savior, I only wanted a love that would last
Now I may be naive but even I can see
Vows are only made for the breaking
And while she runs away towards something new

But you can't get very far
When you looking ahead then behind
When there's doubt in your mind

It's strange to think about days that now seem
like they never really happened

The things I remember as a child

Always held the promise of a brighter day
When it was all just lessons learned and debts repaid

Do you see the world in a such a narrow way, is that who you are?
Well it's hard to stop...
You're living in a material world world, where everything is judged by the things you want, and the things you've got
Trapped between despair and hope
Between the yours, mine and ours
While dreams of the sweet sweet life turn ever sour

And if people weren't really hurting we could call it all a foolish game
When reaching high only leaves you open to another shot below the belt
I say its time we let it all go and start something else..
Politicians will spin all the things they believe
And the things that they're not
It's easier to deceive when you change the stories and keep all the lines crossed

Only want to take the things that should be ours
But the only ones who keep on taking are those with the power
So little time to get things right
Yet we're obsessed with the noise
People can't seem to focus too well
