We'll sing while the wind blows and pushes us Down down down Enraptured we'll face our destiny With our heads held proud And like those who have come before us Ad those who trail in our wake We follow these dark seas down Dark seas down My wife was so fair when we married in June, by August I had gone The years disappeared beneath endless waves, in services to the throne A man's got to do what a man must do, regardless of the sacrifice While the gods of the sea wrest the gods of the sky Mere mortals just suffer and die A man's legacy is passed on through his sons, while his daughters toil long on this earth For hope and dreams are not man's design these are determined by birth A man finds no peace in a rage against fate he must make of his life what he can Like a piece of stone or handful of earth He comes and returns from the land We pray to the heavens to guide and preserve us As we pass through the storm And comfort is found knowing songs will be sung even should we never be found Tears form a river named perseverance which only the living must swim We struggle so hard to return with the tide only to be swept back out again © Randy Forte 2012

Time doesn't matter, no time doesn't matter Time doesn't matter beyond the moment that you're in But you're never in a moment Looking past all your moments You're going through the motions but you're living an empty promise Why? And you want to be loved Yet you're afraid of loving someone But you want to be loved, in a way that will never ever come undone But you've already shut that down Living in a room that's grown so small You could have had everything, yet you settled for nothing at all And you cry.. And if its true you cannot learn Anything that you haven't seen You must push yourself further to find The truth of this American dream It's not what it seems It's all lies... Faith hope and love We hear those words a lot but they never seems to come from the heart Faith hope and love Words easy to say even when you don't believe what they mean Faith hope and love Forever the currency of the innocent Faith hope and love You're waking up to find you don't even know where any of it went © Randy Forte 2012

What do you not believe in How long has it been that way After fighting through the fates and fortunes of this world You think we'd be a wiser race But we don't even know our place What do you not remember About the tragedies that came before After all the tears and blood that have washed this earth You think that we would have learned more But we haven't even been keeping score And it was just another birthday song And then a moment when it all went wrong But give it time, see the panic's gone And it's just another birthday song What do you just not value The answer may surprise you yet And just as much as you resist giving You're expecting to get But it seems the glass slippers won't fit What do you not understand About the simple way that things all change After a simple run of luck at the center of the universe We're coming into a new day Seems we never really knew the rules in play © Randy Forte 2012

There's a secret running round my heart No matter how I try I just can't find it I never will, until it stops I search for meaning but it's just not clear I count the wasted days I spent round here Waiting for something, I can't describe It's clear a half belief is no belief at all Still I play along like I'm halfway dumb Endlessly pretending Eventually I'll come around, when its clear I'm only headed down I hear a whisper brush past my ear Tempting me towards a road unknown Makes me question all I know, and don't There's a dream where I want to live The best of everything I love is there And it's calling me to sleep I knows part of me is broken and so sad Forever making guesses as to cause and blame Everyday, the truth hides there before me But evening comes and I know I'm still the same I haven't changed © Randy Forte 2012

One of the many, yet different from them all Listen closely, you can hear them fall I want to be free, free to see in ways that can see through All the lies I've made my own The face in the mirror, I'm tired of watching him grow further away Time to say enough of that, lets go home And you can come along One of the many, yet different from the rest From the land of plenty, you throw away your best I want to know that I can love for love and just for love alone It can be that simple, it can be that strong I'm tired of the hurting, all the heartache everyday endured When it seems so certain we offer so much more And all I have I'll share with you One of the many, yet different from them all I'll open up my arms, catch you when you fall Snowflake....... © Randy Forte 2012

I'm just a poor boy A child by all accounts Don't waste my innocence For a love that doesn't count Some gifts are fragile Yet others will stand the test of time A promise could be either But its true only the receiver can decide I'm just a simple man More earnest than proud Please don't break my heart If you know your love's not allowed There's something you should know I'm scared that I'm dreaming And on waking everything that I know will be gone I'm constantly making excuses To tell you again what I've said all along I'm just a dreamer Whose heart is on his sleeve Don't say you'll stay forever If you know you're gonna leave Cause that's something about me It's something you should know It's something you should know © Randy Forte 2012

I remember days of green grass and innocence A light within me grew And from a love so pure, it forged the one from two But now I live in a dream When you go so low that down seems like up The sadness survives, even as I drink from your loving cup I can hear your voice, offering me this endless romance Begging me please, to comeback home and give it one more chance A thousand times I die, in ways so small Sometimes before your eyes A beautiful smile The best defense is always a surprise Falling so slow, your embrace so gentle Something I should have known all along It's only fear that keeps us from leaving Even when everything else has moved on Falling so fast, right past tomorrow The wind has turned so bitter and cold You wonder aloud, how love turned to sorrow You don't have to guess, you already know Sing me one last song The one that almost makes me want to cry And I'll sleep through The tenderness of your last goodbye © Randy Forte 2012

You read a book somewhere one day That opened your mind to a time you waited for It never came the world changed Now you feel so betrayed Promises and secrets notes About the things you felt but never spoke Memories gathered up in a box with no lock It's doubtful anyone really cares anyway When what you say fades away Even from your memory It's a sunny day, the kind you get use to in California Where the urgency's delayed, it's best to stay and linger longer And everyone has opinions, truths you need to know Everyone is selling plans and schemes To get you to the place they say, you need to go But I'm not sure Any of them, really know So even if it all just flows to you Just let it go And even if it all goes away from you Just let it go You searched and waited for the perfect time And then you find, the journey was all in your mind I'm feeling like I just want to stand in the way Of people who say they've got it made When even on their wisest days, they can't see greed from zen Sometimes in these darkest days it seems the chance for peace in our life is lost And that's the way it will remain until we learn to see the truth of what we've wrought At what cost And what is, and what's not © Randy Forte 2012

When did you discover your youth had passed away You never did recover, from things I hear you say Now like so many others, lost inside my mind It's strange too see how the past is changed, by the future that you find When did you surrender, your dreams for your gold Were they slowly pried away, or did you just let them go It's sad sometimes to second guess, about the roads in life we choose But its sadder still to just give in, and let the roads choose you 'Cause once upon a time, that never would have even crossed your mind When did you determine that love was just a phase Did pride leave you cold and bitter, callous to your ways Now what can you feel when you don't believe the gift of love is real No wealth can bring you solace for the emptiness you feel You know it's best sometimes to not look back We can't live the past again No it's not strange that you should change It's just the how and when No it's not strange that you should change It's just the how and when When did you surrender? © Randy Forte 2012

All it took was one look at those big sad eyes To know you're looking for the land of dreams It's a brighter place full of beautiful smiles And you don't have to hide from a world gone wild The sky has a glow that I've never seen before And people wear smiles that leave me cold You know how it goes you forget after awhile Details obscured, the objective is lost No one can tell you what it is all about A piece of the puzzle that just won't fit You've got the looks but you ain't got the style Hard to be shocking in a world gone wild Violence it grows in the face of frustration Hard to feel compassion for reaching hands A case is made, closed, then filed That's how it goes in a world gone wild © Randy Forte 2012

Good Morning 02:31
Good morning, we're gonna have a grand day Don't be shy come on out and play You're looking so delightful And the sadness you're feeling will finally start healing With love Good morning, be an early riser Well that's the only way to fly Look smart, we're on a mission See the countdown has started and we're definitely targeting love We're targeting love What do you say When the joy fades away And games you played bring nothing but empty victories What do you see? When you look at yourself Is anything left of the person you once dreamed Well don't let that be Say good morning and get ready for a strange time Anything can change if you want it to You're looking like you need a reminder So take a deep breath relax There'll be no going back from love And the sadness you're feeling can finally start healing with love I know your heart has been smarting so we're definitely targeting love You see the journey has started, all rockets are firing towards love All rockets are firing towards love Rockets firing towards love Say good morning.... © Randy Forte 2012
