Wonder falling under the world is torn asunder As Technicolor dreams fade to monochrome Your hopes have all crumbled as painfully you stumble Through this scorched out life that you call your own And it wasn’t like this when you were young When lovers loved and songs were sung But everyone must grow up someday Everyone must stop playing children’s games Until the wonder, falls under Wonder, falling under Time it keeps on slipping through the points that you’ve been missing Decisions would be different if only you had known And you miss the playful hours when your super-hero powers Revealed the wonders of this world in many different ways And it wasn’t like this when you were young And joy was found at every turn But everyone must grow up someday Everyone must stop playing children’s games Until the wonder, falls under Wonder, falling under Wonder… And it’s starting to seem like it’s never coming back again Yes it’s starting to seem like it’s never coming back again Wonder falling under and it’s never coming back again © Randy Forte 2011

Birds flying backwards, they must be going Back from where they came On the straight and narrow There’s falcons and sparrows All sharp as an arrow It almost seems natural So get the children off to bed Let’s keep this image from their heads The less they know the less to be said And the less that’s said the better Man’s thinking backwards so they must be fighting Over things like power and pride The morally anointed, they keep their rifles pointed Cuz there’s someone to be hunted, all the time Things falling down the earth must be shaking You know things always cycle around We never learn, and so we’re doomed to return to the places we’ve already found History repeats, it’s like a thief It will rob you all of the time A flock of sheep Awake yet asleep Protecting trinkets that you can’t even keep Birds flying backwards it almost seems natural When birds fly backwards it almost seems natural It’s like birds flying backwards! © Randy Forte 2011

She's Okay 04:11
She’s ok but she used to be different Different in ways that you can’t see She’s ok but she used to be different It was different to me She’s ok but she used to be different She’s still so cute, yet something has changed She’s ok but she used to be different Maybe it’s time I should blame She’s ok but she used to be different Different in a way that seemed more free She’s ok but she used to be different Maybe the difference is me Each passing week, each day, each stare I’m falling deeper between this melancholy and half-caring And I scream until there’s no further to go But this game wont gets me very far, yes I know But then perhaps I’ll see And then perhaps I’ll die And then perhaps free Above the earth, above the sea and the sky And then perhaps I’ll see And then perhaps I’ll die Oh and then perhaps free Above the earth, above the sea and the sky She’s ok but she used to be different Different in a way that you can’t see She’s ok but she used to be different It was different for me But she’s ok Yeah she’s ok But it was different for me © Randy Forte 2011

There are times when I’m not sure just what you see When you are lost in your dreams and fantasies Whose voice do you hear? Whose touch do you seek? A mystery that you wont explain though I know that it’s not me chorus ‘Cause I’m fading away I’m drifting down beneath the darkest seas And it’s strange but I don’t feel pain like I thought there would be Oh, how to explain That what I’m feeling now Is nothing at all And there were good days when we both smiled and held hands And there were nights when our love kept the cold at bay But try though we might a restlessness soon crept in And slowly the magic was drained from all that had been I spent too much time looking for a way to get back But things that are done are all gone buried deep in the past Though memories may haunt you and keep you from moving ahead When you no longer hear what you say only things that you’ve said © Randy Forte 2011

Woke up this morning and the world was flat Swore to myself I’d never live like that Walked a lonely road just to find myself When I got to the end I found there was nothing left Can’t say nothing that I don’t believe ICan’t pretend about the wrongs I see So uptight, I gotta get away But you run into the same world regardless of the road you take Chorus I’m not trying to be unreasonable I’m just trying to live a different kind of life We fall apart even as we claim otherwise We’re too clever to see the truth of our own lies You fear to love and you fear your death so you live in the middle But what kind of life is left? Like a game except you can’t win You keep a stiff upper lip, turn around and start again Walked on the moon but I ain’t been back Everyone says there’s nothing wrong with that Prayed to heaven, asking for a break But heaven’s out of miracles they say we’re gonna have to wait Say it ain’t so, say I’m not like that Cuz I wanna break free and take it all back Tell me what you feel, tell me what you think Do you ever wonder why, your life is always on the brink Keep on smiling but I still feel sad Try to do good and it all turns bad I tell myself when the storm let’s down Greater love will carry us to higher ground Rhyme to the crime it’s a sign of the times You gotta let it all go and open your mind Get past your fear; get past your learned hate Find the love in your heart before it’s too late

Wonder Boy 03:34
Well she’s not the one who’s going to turn my world upset down She’s not the one who’s going to say a frown is just a smile turned around Who would believe it It’s such a trip the way she means it Everytime she says she’s not for me It’s not the day these grey skies will go away And it’s not the day that motivation that I lack will come back Who would believe it It’s such a trip the way I mean it Every time I say you know I’m gonna change (Chorus) It’s Wonder Boy He’s back again It’s Wonder Boy He’s back again Will he ever save the world Will he get the girl Hey! Wonder Boy we’re not wondering anymore So get ready for action Wonder Boy’s the attraction! Well it’s not invention just pretension and that’s not worth a dime It’s not conviction when there’s no mission, no vision of a finish line Who would believe it It’s such a trip the way I slip Into such sweet amnesia all the time © Randy Forte 2011

I’m trying to get right here on my own I’m looking for truth in the words of a song There’s something about these days that rains on my parade And I just can’t say Where happiness lies It seems clear then blurs It’s like friend, as a verb No one’s there and no one’s coming soon I learned a lot lately that I never knew Now I’m questioning everything that I do When everyone has gone inside they only want to see the things they know And as they make it so Their world doesn’t grow They’re living the absurd Like friend, as a verb It’s just pretend, so why don’t you let it go Finally found the silence buried in the sound It just takes awhile to learn your way around People say so many things that they don’t really mean Moods come and go They’re not what they seem Betrayed by their words It’s like friend, as a verb No one’s there and no one’s coming soon It’s like friend, as a verb It’s just pretend, so why don’t you let it go Let it go © Randy Forte 2011

4 a.m. 04:25
I’m riding down the freeway at 4am And I’m not certain where I’m bound There isn’t much left I can call mine When more has been lost than been found And she claims survival Said I’m in denial But she won’t tell me what she’s feeling when she cries The dream is ending So let’s stop kidding ourselves We both have had enough of these half truths and lies At 4am Well she says she loves me at 4am Maybe she do but I think she don’t With so much riding on this our final hand She swore she’d double down But she wont And it’s just a reflect And you know what comes next That sad little face she makes each time we say good-bye Let me save you the trouble I can save you the pain ‘Cause I can burst love’s bubble with just a simple twist of hate At 4am I’m laying awake at 4am I been trying to figure out just who the hell I am No matter where you go Your past hunts you down No you can’t escape it’s longing And it’s just a sad game But one we can’t change Though it changes us in ways we never want to know The dream is ending so let’s stop kidding ourselves Everything is broken still her memory lingers on At 4am © Randy Forte 2011

You’re sayin’ good-bye, to a year, to a day To a moment, that you just can’t say How it felt, what you meant, what you’ll remember What you’ll miss when it all goes away Claiming you tried, to change, and to bring Attention to what you’ve long ignored And what you said, what you meant, what you’ll remember What you’ll miss when it all turns out just like before. There’s so many places you could look to see What you could be, what you could become There’s so many faces who would smile and be A friend to help you along Starting with me. I’m leaving behind these times and the signs That I’m crippled in soul and mind I’ve got to find, the peace, and the passion That I recognize as mine I’ve got to be, possessed, and at rest Engaging all the love within me Then what I’ve said, and felt, and meant and missed They’ll all just be words In this song to myself © Randy Forte 2011

There’s a lazy way we play Never expecting showers or rain We always seem so surprised when they come our way From the day that we first met When love turned to regret I’ve fallen too far inside myself and can’t find the way out Now there’s a girl who never cried And there are oceans in her eyes And in the middle there is an island that she calls her own I don’t think there could ever be Anyone that’s more like me But knowing that just makes me feel more alone chorus It could have been perfect but we ran out of time So take what you need and leave it behind The things that we seek are seldom what we’ll find It could have been perfect but we ran out of time. Now I’m dreaming all the time Even when I’m wide awake I don’t what it all means but I try to make it all relate A broken promise and an empty room Where the laughter ended much too soon With photographs of people you don’t know anymore © Randy Forte 2011

What did you expect to find here now? Were you imaging that things could be the same? Were you thinking I’d be lost, frozen in the moment you said good-bye? You never understood how things work How two people passing by And through the chance of time Collide Some call it love… ‘Cause we keep on moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We’re always moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We keep on moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We’re gonna circle the sun, before the year is done What regret has brought you back to see? The places you once shared with me That time has come and gone The past can’t set you free The future is a place that we invent Where choices that we make now We hope will turn our lives around And we’ll be saved From ourselves ‘Cause we keep on moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We’re always moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We keep on moving even when we think we’re going nowhere We’re gonna circle the sun, before the year is done © Randy Forte 2011
